Belize Attractions
The Trip Begins Here!

Hello and Welcome to Belize Attractions!

If you are here because you are thinking of taking a vacation in Belize, then you’ve come to the right place! If I were you, I would want to know just exactly what this corner of the world has to offer, right?

Well speaking from experience, it certainly has a lot. Through the pages of this website I want to take you on a virtual tour of my own Belize visit to help whet that appetite of yours`, because let’s face it, the response of most folks if you mention Belize to is, “Belize???? Where’s that?”

In a way, that’s a good thing because it means Belize has not been exposed to a lot of tourism which can cause a lot of “wear and tear”. Instead it’s a destination of unspoilt beauty and a window of mystery into the past that won’t fail to satisfy your thirst for adventure and discovery.

Want to know why I chose to visit Belize? The spark that ignited my interest came from a visit to the Baron Bliss Exhibition and Ball being held at the Natural History Museum in London.

I had not taken much interest in discovering the country of my father’s birth until the invitations came. They were originally meant for my father and step-mother but they couldn’t attend because of illness, so my father asked if my husband and I could represent them. I jumped to the occasion and so I was off to the Natural History Museum on the 9th of March. Baron Bliss Day.

As I was mingling and looking at rather large pictures of Belize attractions, that’s when it happened! Where I saw it!...contin.

My Trip to Belize
My Trip to Belize was a success because I planned and prepared. I have compiled a little step by step commentary on how I went about it to help you have a good holiday too.

Mayan Temples to Visit
Mayan Temples are plentiful in Belize and a favourite of Belize attractions. Each has its own uniqueness. Lubaatun as a classic example has stricking brickwork.

Belmopan
Belmopan the Capital of Belize is only 38 years old. What used to be jungle now hosts the capital, moved from Belize City after Hurricane Hattie.

Belize City Belize
Belize City Belize, once the Capital, has a dramatic history. We stayed in a guest house that had been lifted to the other side of a park during Hurricane Hattie.

Corozal Town
Breezy Corozal Town is a quiet peaceful place, nice if you like fishing or snorkelling or stuff like that, but in September it comes alive on Mexican National Day.

Orange Walk Town
Orange Walk Town is not much of a tourist town but it is rich in history, boasts the largest list of birds in the country and the boarding point for the Laminai Ruins.

Ambergris Belize Visit
Ambergris Belize is a laid back Island Caye, that bears the slogan, no shoes, no shirt, no problem. It is situated in close proximity to the second largest barrier reef in the world.

San Pedro Belize Visit
In San Pedro Belize we booked a dive to the second largest barrier reef in the world. Take a dip if you dare. The grouper fish will just love you being there.

Water Falls in Belize
The Five Sisters Water Falls in Belize is where we found the Garden of Eden. This place is truly a paradise with more than 450 species of orchids to prove it.

The Hummingbird Highway Belize
The Hummingbird Highway takes you down a senic route through the Stann Creek Valley towards the South East Coast. Enroute you may come face to face with a terantula.

The Southern Highway Belize
The Southern Highway Belize which runs from Dangriga down to Punta Gorda is now 100% paved. Not too long ago, it was an exciting but rough ride, only for the adventurous.

Beautiful Belize People
Belize People are a melting pot from various cultures and backgrounds. The Maya, Creole, Mestizos, Garifuna, Mennonite, East Indian, Arab and Chinese all contribute to the reputation Belize deserves.

Belize Traditional Foods
Belize Traditional Foods are served up in places like Lucilles Kitchen, Rasta Pasta and the British History Museum.

The Belize Climate
Belize climate charts along with a weather station to help you decide which time of year suits your type of Belize vacation the best.
