Belize Islands
The "Cayes" to Paradise

Did you know there are hundreds of Belize Islands? That`s right! I am trying to find out which one is the smallest. These Islands are called Cayes, pronounced "keys", and they are littered in and around the Belize Barrier Reef, being split into 3 categories, Barrier Reef Cayes; Inner Reef Cayes; and Shoreline Cayes.

If your planning on a Belize adventure vacation, or looking for the best Belize dive resorts, knowing a little about each will help you choose the destination that fits your needs.

This page lists most of them, with some info on each being added gradually.

Places with numbers 2 or 3 following the name, means there is more than one island with the same name.

Ambergris Caye

Ambergris is the most popular of all the Cayes, atolls, and islands, and is situated off shore of the Corozal district.
