Ambergris Belize
No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem!

Monday 13th October - Next Stop, Ambergris Belize

Where better to dip your feet in the Caribbean Sea than strolling the white sandy beaches of Ambergris Caye.

How did we make it to this little paradise in the sun? Well we eventually said goodbye to our trusty metallic steed and spent a few days in Belize City before booking a short boat trip to one of the most beautiful of Belize Islands.

My dad would often talk about San Pedro Belize, so I made it a must to get here during my Belize trip.

We caught the boat at Triple K, Monday 13th October, Christopher Columbus day, at 9am. sharp. We were quite excited about this trip and anticipated interesting hic-ups along the way. After all, that is what we had come to expect on our adventure trip. And soon enough it happened.

As we reached part way at our first stop, Caye Caulker, the boat shaft broke and dropped into the water, just as we were pulling to shore. While waiting for another boat we had time to take a quick look about and have a cool drink at this beauty spot.

It was a rougher ride in the second boat but nothing could dampen our spirits. In fact, you know me by now. It just made my trip more exciting!

Arriving in Ambergris Belize

When we arrived at Ambergris Caye, we were not disappointed. The sight of emerald, changing to turquoise blue waters, swaying palm trees, and little jetties put us in a laid back mood instantly.

We were soon to discover that you can walk from one end of this island to the other, but not knowing how close in proximity everything was, we took a taxi from the boat only to be dropped off 250 yards away at our hotel, The Playador, where we stayed in a triple cabana. To get around this island, you can either drive, kick sand or golf cart your way around. We hired a golf cart going back and forth from one end of the island to the other.
